2026-2027 STUDENT HANDBOOK UPDATES

 
The Lancaster School District Student Handbook has been updated and there are many new additions. Contact the school or Lancaster School District for more information or clarification. Here is a short list of some updates:
No Cell Phone Logo

NO CELL PHONE USE ON SCHOOL CAMPUSES.

 
California Bill AB 3216 passed, banning use of cell phones, headphones and other handheld systems by students.  This does not include a student Chromebook.  Devices must be kept in packpacks at al times.
  • FIRST OFFENSE: Devices will be confiscated and handed to administration for pick up at the end of the day.
  • SECOND OFFENSE: Devices will be confiscated, handed to administration and only an authorized parent or guardian must pick up the device.
  • THIRD OFFENSE: Device will be  handed to administration and a meeting with must be scheduled and had before returning device.
 
SUGGESTED OPTION: Have student keep device at home. 
 
 
 
No Starbucks Logo

NO OUTSIDE DRINKS ALLOWED

 
Lancaster School District has updated its policy. Beginning this school year, not Starbucks, Dutch Brothers, Big Gulps, or any other drinks are allowed on campus.  Students entering New Vista Middle School will be instructed to finish their drinks, or throw them away before entering campus. 
 
SUGGESTED OPTION: Purchase drink after school as a reward for doing an amazing job at school. 
 
 
 
No Food Delivery Logo

ALL FOOD DELIVERIES ARE PROHIBITED

 
Food delivery services are not allowed, which means FOOD DELIVERED TO NEW VISTA WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED and turned away.  Parents and/or Guardians are welcomed to drop off food themselves and sit with their child while they eat the food.
 
SUGGESTED OPTION: Send your child to school with lunch in a lunchbox.
